Used Car Prices - Wholesale & Retail Guide

About The Black Book..
Black Book was started in 1955 and continues to this day to provide some of the most reliable automotive pricing data out there. Raw market data is collected from numerous venues: Auto Auctions, New Car Dealerships, the Banking and Insurance Industries and is then collated and made available only to those "in the business" via subscription. Black Book’s time-tested methodology has ensured reliable market driven information that is timely, independent, and accurate. Since its very beginning, Black Book has constantly innovated to meet the needs of an evolving automotive marketplace.

What we do..
The focus of our website is to provide consumers with an essential tool for the used car market. What is my vehicle worth? What will I get for a trade in? These are two of the most common questions we hear. At Car Values Canada we've enabled an online membership where for a reasonable fee the general public can access the Black Book's Wholesale and Retail Guide's pricing information. The wholesale/retail values guide database is under strict copyright notice and is provided for the exclusive use of our Members only under licenced agreement with the Canadian Black Book®.

What we offer..
Used Car Pricing:
We provide complete Wholesale and Retail pricing information on all Canadian models 1996 - 2008. Our database is updated each and every month with the latest available data direct from the Black Book. Check here to see if your vehicle in question is in our database.

Fair Market Value Calculator:
Takes into consideration those factors which are unique to your vehicle such as "options" over and above those included as "basic equipment". Automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes and AM/FM stero are usually considered basic equipment. Those options that add "additional value" to the price of the vehicle are included.
Other factors are the geographical location and mileage of the vehicle. An example of the geographical variances is that cars in Provinces West of Ontario are calculated at (+8.00%) of the posted value while trucks of the same location are calculated at (+13.00%).
Mileage factoring is based on an industry standard of 24,000 km per year. The difference in kilometers affects the pricing at an average rate of $0.05 per km. A vehicle travelling 20,000 kms in a year would see an additional (+$200.00) added to its value while a vehicle travelling 28,000 kms in a year would see a minus (-$200.00) deducted from it's value. The total amount to add or subtract for mileage factoring cannot exceed 50% of the posted value of the vehicle.
